Got Questions? We Have Answers

Our normal language courses are recommended for participants aged 16+. For younger people aged between 6 and 15 years old, we recommend private lessons which are specially tailored for this age group.

The average age is 35 but our oldest student was 75 years old!

Our teachers all speak in their mother tongue; they are highly qualified, with years of experience in teaching their language to foreign students.

Our group classes can accommodate up to 8 students, but the average is 5/6

Our courses are divided into: Absolute Beginner, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced .

Yes, sure! You can book a language course with us as an absolute beginner and, after only a few lessons, you’ll already have reached a level with which you can make yourself understood in everyday life situations.

Some courses are held all year round, some other courses have specific start dates. Send us a message to have the start dates for each course.

Your lesson will start at either 9am, 11am, 2pm or 4pm.

Travel insurance is compulsory in Thailand if you need medical attention. Hospitals will request your travel insurance details or proof of payment before they’ll treat you. The standard of private hospitals are good in most parts, but they can be very expensive! Buy a travel insurance policy before you head over here, so you can have peace of mind while abroad and make sure the policy covers the duration of your time in Thailand.

World Nomads Travel insurance, for instance,  has been designed by travellers to cover everything you need and it’s highly recommended.

Yes. The deposit for all language courses is 50% of the total study fee.
Students with ED visa must pay 50% on completion of documents.

The balance is due no later than the first day of your course, before your first lesson begins. You can make the payment any time before then.

We accept payment by cash, Paypal or bank transfer.

Nothing special! You simply need a pen and a notebook.
For the registration don’t forget your passport and 2 passport pics.

The learning material which you will use throughout your course are always included in the cost of the program, although please note that sometimes there is a small extra charge for some books, if you prefer the book to the copies.

Once you have completed your program of language lessons, you’ll receive a certificate stating the course you attended and the level you reached, but remember that this certificate is not classed as a qualification though.

Although there are no deadlines, to avoid disappointment you should book as soon possible.
The earlier you book, the less expensive your travel costs are likely to be!

You’ll meet people from all over the world! Classes always contain a wide range of nationalities. Best of all, the language you are learning will probably be the only common language, so you’re sure to get lots of practice!

Of course you can!  You can continue as a private student, because our private course can be customized to meet your specific needs, or register for a group course with fellow students who share the same learning interests.

Yes it is. Samui Language School is accredited and monitored by the Thai Ministry of Education. Our school, trainers and material undergo regular inspection and reviews to ensure our high standards are upheld.

The school is located on the beautiful island of Koh Samui. Koh Samui is well known in the tourism business longer than almost any other Thai island, but rather than becoming passe, it has embraced a new generation of resort goers, many of them upscale. The island includes fine stretches of sand with beach loungers, rubbish-free roads, world-class international cuisine, luxurious spas and beach bar parties.
Behind the glossy veneer there’s still a part of “real Thailand”. Look for steaming street-side food stalls beyond the beach, backpacker shanties plunked down on quiet stretches of sand and secreted Buddhist temples along the backstreets. To really get away, head to the south or the west of the island where you’ll find authentic Samui family-run seafood restaurants, tourist-free towns buzzing with descendants of the original Chinese merchant settlers and long stretches of refreshingly wild coconut palms.

We provide free Internet access for our students. We are also Wireless enabled so you access the Internet from your laptop or smart device. You can also use our student’s computer to check your emails, to use the Internet and to stay in touch with your friends and family home.

Our teachers are always aware that the students are in the correct class according to their level. Should a student recognise that the level in his/her class is too high/low, he/she can change the class without any problem.

Yes, we can if you want us to. We don’t provide accommodation directly but we can recommend reliable professionals who can give you many different options of all standards and budgets, all within walking distance of the school and the beach.

Yes, you can! If you need a Visa to come to Thailand, we will send you a confirmation for your course booking with SLS after receiving 50% deposit at no extra charge (Thai and English only). You can apply for a Visa from abroad then with the papers we provide. Please remember that to obtain a student visa you must study a minimum of 8 hours per week and you must study a minimum of 6 months.

If you miss a group class (giving us at least 24 hours notice), you’ll catch up what you have lost at the end of the course. If you are going to lose many lessons and can’t make them up at a later time, as the class will progress without you, you will have to join another group. You should always try to attend group lessons so you don’t fall behind the rest of the class.
If you’re studying privately, you can postpone lessons by giving us at least 24 hours notice but if you don’t give us notice, you’ll lose those lessons.
